How the data works
Source: Professional histories compiled from public information on the open web, covering about 124 million professionals. Each record has an employer, a job title and start and end dates.
What a hire is: Someone starting a role at an employer they did not work for before. Promotions and internal moves are not hires. Interns, contractors, students and freelancers are left out.
Roles: Matched on job title, from individual contributor to executive. Engineering specialties, such as front-end, platform or forward deployed engineer, are matched on the specialty in the title.
Who and where: People based in the US, hired by employers in any sector, not only tech companies.
Period: Calendar years 2021 to 2025, and 2026 so far. The list on this page runs to 6 November 2026.
Recent months: Job changes take months to appear in public information, so the latest months keep rising after they are pulled.
